We are now booking sessions for our Digital Daze portrait mini on June 16th and 17th! Our clients have been asking for quite some time about offering digital images and it's something we've tossed around but weren't certain how to do so without taking away from the beautiful wall portraits we strive to provide you with; however, we think we've found a happy medium!

We are offering this ONCE a year promotion for our clients! It will be a twenty minute session for children ages one to thirteen in downtown Birmingham. The cost is $400 for the session and a disk of up to ten images from the session (artist's choice - but don't worry, we think we have good taste!). We're really excited about doing this urban session in Birmingham and it will be great fun for the kids too!

Dog Daze Pet Event

Well our first annual Dog Daze Pet Event was a complete success!!! Thank you to everyone who came out with their pups, you helped us raise $240 for the Michigan Humane Society! We were able to book up every time slot we had available on that day and people are still calling about bringing their dogs in! So, because of the huge success of it all we are extending the event through the end of August! If you weren't able to come in on the 7th, that's okay, just hurry in before the end of this month and we will honor all the discounted prices for you and your furry family member!

We also wanted to post our favorite pic from each of the 16 sessions we had! I hope you enjoy the pups as much as we did!

Dog Daze Pet Event August 7th

We are extremely excited about our "Dog Daze" pet event coming up on August 7th!! We thought this event would be fun for us but also for our clients, as this is something we've never done before! It's nice to break away from the mold for a bit and get inspired by something we love...our pets!! :)

This event is taking place on August 7th from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and it is benefiting the local Auburn Hills, Michigan Humane Society. This 20-minute session is $30, but half of that cost will go to support the Humane Society. With this session you will receive a free 5x7 signature portrait of your furry friend and will be able to pick out your favorite pic immediately following the session! Due to the limited spots available, you must call the studio to reserve a time so please hurry as they are nearly booked up already!!

What a difference a year makes!

Today I was reflecting on my life a year ago, and realized what a difference a year makes! Last January I was uncertain when my husband and I would have a child (we had been trying for several years) and I was still photographing on-location. Fast-forward a year and I have a beautiful baby boy who's almost 3 months old and a fabulous studio along with a full-time associate photographer who has been a huge blessing to me by running the business since Christian has been born. All of these things have been faithful answers to my prayers! I hope to encourage you when times are tough in your life, remember that blessings are waiting for you right around the corner:)

Free Family Portraits

We are so excited to participate this year in Sandy Puc's International Charity Model Search for the cutest family of 2010! Sandy Puc is a world-renowned photographer out of Colorado who started this charity model search for her fellow peers. Each year she has a different theme and this year she is searching for the cutest family.

You might be asking yourself what does this mean and how do we take advantage of this great chance to be photographed for free?! Well, for three special Saturdays in the months of January, February and March Meghan will be photographing the families that sign up with us.

To be considered, the family must consist of one parent in the photograph and we are accepting only immediate families for this contest. The images will be posted online for a week after your session. Two weeks from your session date you will come back into the studio to order and pick out your favorite photograph to post online for all to see! This is where the fun begins! Your friends and family can then go online and vote for you as the cutest family in all of North America! The family that is picked will win a brand new car; who knows, the cutest family might be yours!!

The greatest part of this whole experience is not only the fame and fortune :) but the chance to give back to a wonderful charity, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. This charity N.I.L.M.D.T.S. was founded by Sandy Puc and consists of volunteer photographers who come into a family's life when grief has stricken them with the loss of their brand new baby. Too often babies die during or right after birth and the volunteer photographers of N.I.L.M.D.T.S. come in and photograph them with the parents so that the mother and father will always have a beautiful portrait to remember them by. All the proceeds from the votes of this contest will go to benefit N.I.L.M.D.T.S.. Each vote is only a $1.00 and the more votes you have the better your chances are of winning!

As most of you know, we have currently just moved in to our new studio space and have inquired a lot of new props and backgrounds that we need to try out and photograph like this adorable picture above...so from now until September, we are looking for the cutest kids to come in and model for us!

We are looking for children ages newborn (first two weeks of life) to 8 years old who love the camera! If your child's pictures are selected they will go to update a variety of our community displays, as well as decorating our new studio space and used for future website and marketing purposes including local print competitions!

All models will receive a free session and a $50 credit towards any prints you would like to purchase-just our way of saying thanks!

Thank you to many of my clients that have been calling to find out how my pregnancy is going, and wanting to see pictures! You would think being a photographer that I would be capturing the growth of my own tummy this entire time, but besides an occational belly shoot on my iphone here and there-I have no pictures, lol! Sorry to all my faithful bloggers, I have neglected to post for the last several months but have some wonderful and exciting news to share with you all. First of all, my husband and I found out we are expecting our first child back in late March-and are pleased to announce that baby is a boy! My husband and I are just thrilled, and I am so excited to start photographing my very own baby. Here is a picture from his first photo shoot (many more to come!) Age: 20 weeks. I have also been moving into our new studio (which I will post pics very soon) and with all the planning and preparing for both a new studio and a new baby-well, things have been a little crazy around here. However, I am now starting to take sessions again, and will post a couple sneak peeks in a bit.

As some of you know, I have been out of the country for the last two weeks...but have finally made it home! My husband and I went on a tour to Israel with a group from our church and we had an amazing time, I promise to post pictures soon!

Here are a few from a recent senior session with Alexis...with the beautiful fall colors and a beautiful senior we got some fabulous shoots! She was so much fun to work with and we all had a great time...even though it was a pretty chilly day. Since Alexis was so much taller than me, I spent most of the session up on my faithful red stool that all my clients know well:) Enjoy!

I just spent a wonderful 7 days with my husband and family in Cancun...and although I took a little break from my camera, I never have to worry because my brother steps in and shoots away. We relax, played and shopped...and we also took some great shots of all the spouses on the beach, I'll post my favorites soon:)

Since the mad rush to get out the door for my vacation...I'm a little behind on my posting. But I promise I'll make it up to everyone this next week...I have about 20 sessions to post!!! Meet Christian...he is a fun, spunky 6 year old who made us laugh through out the whole session and his pictures are some of my favorites this fall! I had so many to choose from, usually the case when I only photograph an only child, so I tried to narrow it down to only 5 (believe me, it was hard to do!) I'm sure mom will love these...enjoy!

Here is little Sammy Jo...one of my models a couple weeks ago, and let me tell you...she is full of personality! We had so much fun listening to all her stories and funny sayings. Meet little baby Asher, he was just one month old when we came to photograph him, and he was a doll! Mom and dad had great modern furnishings and artwork, so I photographed him with more of a natural and artistic style. We got some great pictures, even though baby Asher was more interested in his feedings:) Enjoy!

I started to notice that Fall is right around the corner at this family session at St. Hugo...we started first thing in the morning, and since the sun is coming up later, we had beautiful light!!! (Although it was definitely NOT fall weather, I believe it got up to 90 that day) Usually photographing four children can be a challenge, but this family was very delightful and we got some great shots! New Product-Canvas Birth Annoucements

When ever I create birth annoucements for my clients, I'm always amazed at how cute they are-not just because of my talent, but because the idea of it is just so adorable. I have been thinking about how to create something more than just a 5x7 card, something that parents could cherish even longer....so here it is. Printed on canvas and stretched around a gallery frame, it's the perfect way to turn birth announcements into baby decor! Now available in sizes 14x14, 16x16 and 20x20. Love it!!!

A couple of weeks ago I was blessed to photograph a beautiful couple who is expecting their first child...I can't wait to meet her! We were able to shoot at their parents home with an awesome studio set up (they were remodeling, so all that was in the room was this antique couch and mirror-hanging in just the right spot!) I absolutely loved every picture from this session so it was hard to pick my favorites...but here goes!

This is cute little Jack, I have been fortunate to photograph him before the day he was born (belly shots) and he is always so much fun! Since most of my life is spent behind the camera, when I visited my brother (who's also a photographer and owns his own video production company) in May, we thought it would be fun to actually have pictures taken of us...urban style. So we took his awesome old and beat up orange chair, found an ally way in downtown Port Washington (yes, I'm originally from Wisconsin), and shot away...it was a learning experience to be the one getting their picture taken!
